The ACE MENTOR PROGRAM is open to students to learn from members of industry about architecture, construction and engineering. The goal is to develop a project and to present at a banquet in April.

The BARR program (Becoming A Ravenwood Raptor) was designed to provide a comprehensive transition program for all new students coming to RHS and the Brentwood community. The BARR program is made up of roughly 30 mentors that are selected during 2nd semester of each year following an application/interview process.

The mentors conduct building tours and carry out both new student and parent orientation events throughout the year. BARR mentors and new students are placed in a study hall where they can foster relationships, receive academic help, and have a BARR teacher to help bridge the gap between school and home.

BARR mentors are counted as our most trusted, selfless, and emotionally intelligent students at RHS. They have a servant’s heart for helping new families become a valued part of the Raptor family. We love our BARR mentors!

DECA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Career and Technical Student Organization with more than 227,000 members in nearly all 50 United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Germany. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Ravenwood DECA members primarily participate through Career Development Conferences. These conferences consist of competitive events in prepared presentations or roleplay scenarios. Ravenwood DECA is open to all students.

E-SPORTS is a competitive, team-based activity where students will practice together to compete with other school teams in the district. Students will have opportunities to compete at matches based on their individual win/lose stats as well as small group win/lose stats. Games students will be competing in include League of Legends (PC), Rocket League (PC), Multiverses (PC), and Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo Switch). Students will be required to register in Final Forms to be eligible to attend practice and compete. E-Sports not only gives students a chance to play competitive video games, but also opens the door into many different careers in technology. There are also great scholarship opportunities for students who may be interested in playing at the collegiate level.

The FRESHMAN MENTORING PROGRAM was designed to provide a comprehensive transition program for all freshmen coming to the Ravenwood community. Freshman Mentors (rising juniors and seniors) are selected during 2nd semester of each year following an application process. The mentors (or FMPs) plan and carry out Freshman Orientation over the summer and continue mentoring throughout the school year by presenting Ravenwood‐relevant lessons once weekly in freshman homeroom classes. In addition, mentors make themselves available to freshmen seeking "upper‐classman guidance." It is quite an honor at Ravenwood to be selected to serve as an FMP. Rising juniors and seniors go through an application process that includes obtaining letters of recommendation, maintaining good grades and good attendance, and exhibiting a positive attitude. FMPs are considered the "cream of the crop" at Ravenwood ~~ We love our FMPs!

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps those in need to rise out of poverty. Habitat helps families to attain homeownership by building houses at the lowest possible cost through volunteer labor and donated materials. They sell the houses at no profit and no interest to a low-income family. Ravenwood students assist five other Williamson County high schools with the build in February and March as a part of “Habitat High.”

HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) club is open to any student with an interest in the medical services profession. Membership is based on a participation point system to maintain membership status. Participation offerings are state/regional competitions, community service opportunities on campus and off, and attending meetings.

JROTC Raiders—is a high adventure competition team that competes in physical challenges and rope bridge events.
JROTC Drones—is a new team that learns how to fly drones and films events for JROTC.
JROTC Color Guard—presents the flags at school competitions and various community events.
JROTC Leadership—competes in bowl style competitions with other JROTC units across the nation.
JROTC Academic—competes in bowl style competitions with other JROTC units across the nation.
JROTC Rifle Team—competes in the Williamson County Rifle League and against other teams across the nation via postal matches.

Ravenwood's Junior Classical League is open to anyone taking Latin or any former Latin III/AP student. We will explore the Ancient World and experience Greco-Roman Culture through skits, trivia, and art. The goal is to have 50% participation in local competitions and the State Convention.

Model United Nations, or MUN, is a club where students of all grade levels are invited to register for a yearly, weekend-long conference run by the YMCA (held in the fall). In preparation and at the conference, students will work in teams and represent a country within the mock United Nations, create a resolution for their assigned country, and debate among fellow delegates at the conference about the changes they wish to see in the world. This club is for anyone who loves speaking, debating, government, history, and has plans to be a future changemaker!

Science Olympiad is a multi-tiered hands-on competition composed of 23 events designed to promote achievement in high school STEM topics. The club meets regularly throughout the year, competes in Invitational Tournaments, and ultimately 15 students compete as a team in a Regional Tournament. Based on the Regional performance, the team may receive a bid to the State Tournament. The top team at the State Tournament receives a bid for the National Tournament.

The RHS Speech and Debate team competes throughout the year across the state in tournaments sponsored by the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League and the National Speech and Debate Association. The team practices twice a week after school. Students must try out in order to participate.

STARS stands for "Students Taking A Right Stand." STARS club is committed to advocating for the health and wellbeing of Ravenwood students. STARS Club also works to bring awareness and decrease substance use in the community. The mission of the STARS club is to model and promote hope, health, and connection throughout Ravenwood.

Student council is an active and vibrant part of life at Ravenwood! Class and Student Body Officers are elected each year. There is an election/application process for general members to join with expectations of commitment and dedication. The goal of Student Council is to foster student leadership opportunities, serve both community and school, and promote unity as well as enhance positive school climate and spirit within the school.

The prestigious yearbook staff works hard to create a 400-page full color yearbook capturing the year’s events, classes, athletics, arts, and clubs. The yearbook staff is chosen through an application/interview process in the spring. Yearbook staff meets every day during 5th and 6th period.

Youth in Government, or YIG, , is a club where students of all grade levels are invited to register for a yearly, weekend-long conference run by the YMCA ( held in the spring). In preparation for the conference, students will work in teams as mock legislative members and create a bill for something they wish to see improved within the state of Tennessee. Once at the conference, students will debate among fellow delegates about the changes they wish to see in the state in hopes that their bill gets passed into “law.” This club is for anyone who loves speaking, debating, government, history, and has plans to be a future changemaker!

Description: The International Thespian Honor Society recognizes rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre - performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.

• Maintain an A average in their current/most recent Latin course and exemplify good leadership and community involvement.

Description: Members are by invite only out of the Algebra 2 Honors classes. This is a one time only invitation. To join you need the invitation and pay $20 (one time fee) to enroll in the National Mu Alpha Theta. To maintain membership until Senior year, members need to earn service points each semester. Failure to keep up with points and documentation means honor cords will not be given. Monthly meetings, tutoring opportunities at RHS, elementary math nights, tutoring at WMS/SMS, MAO planned activities are all ways to earn points.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed to inspire and recognize students in visual art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Description: The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students who demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and community service. The purpose of the National Chinese Honor Society is to encourage its members to become life-long learners in order to gain a better understanding of Chinese language and culture, as well as to play an active role as a contributing global citizen in the twenty-first century.

Qualifications:

• Invitation to membership is restricted to students actively engaged in the study of French in Ravenwood. Students must be enrolled in or have completed French 2.
• Transfer students must have spent at least one full semester in Ravenwood high school before becoming eligible for invitation to membership.
• Candidates must have maintained an A- (A minus) average or higher in French throughout their secondary school study of French, including the semester of selection and all previous work awarded secondary school credit.
• Candidates must have maintained a B- (B minus) average or higher in all other secondary school subjects prior to the semester of selection. French may not be used to calculate this average.

Description: The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Ravenwood's National Honor Society chapter activities include service to the school and community. Students with the required GPA are notified by email to complete membership packets for consideration during second semester of Junior year. (Class of 2026 the GPA is 3.75; Class of 2027 and after the GPA is 4.0).

Description: The Science Honor Society encourages and recognizes scientific and intellectual thought, advances the student’s knowledge of classical and modern science, communicates with the scientific community, aids the civic community with its comprehension of science, and encourages students to participate in community service and in turn, encourages a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

Meetings: Meetings are virtual and monthly. Additional meeting times and locations for guest lectures, community service, etc will vary.

Qualifications:

• Students must be in 10th or 11th grade. (11th grade students are full members and 10th grade students are “junior” members)
• All students must be or have been enrolled in at least one honors or Advanced Placement science class during or prior to the tenth grade year.
• Complete and turn in an application by the announced date.
• Students must maintain a 3.7 cumulative GPA.
• Students must maintain a 3.7 GPA across all science courses.
• To receive an Honor Cord for Graduation students must remain in good standing through their senior year (participate in service activities, attend meetings, attend guest lectures, maintain their GPA, etc.).

Description: Recognizes students for participation in speech and debate activities. Students earn merit points for participation.

National Technical Honor Society is for any Career and Technical student who is in their second career and technical course and has an overall unweighted GPA of 3.5. Membership is by application, Applications are taken in the spring with induction in April.

Qualifications:

• Students must have completed at least one CTE course and are in their second CTE course.
• Students will graduate with two or more CTE classes.
• Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA.
• Applicants should be enrolled in CTE organization aligned with their CTE course.
• Applications will be taken in February.
• Accepted students will be notified in March.
• Members are expected to be active in the society and be active in community service.

Rho Kappa inducts members, conducts service activities, and raises awareness regarding social studies.

Description: Spanish Honor Society is for students in Spanish 3, AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Spanish Literature, or for students who have taken the highest level Ravenwood has offered. This honor society is devoted to helping the local hispanic community, practicing the language, learning about other cultures, and using the skills learned in the classroom in a new setting. Students must be in good academic standing in their language class and reapply each year.

Description: The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the only international music honor society for high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership. Tri‐M inductees will have the opportunity to participate in many music activities throughout the year including service projects, performance of a solo or small ensemble piece at a Tri-M recital, and other activities to boost awareness of music in the community.

Meetings: Mornings once a month. First meeting in early September.

1. Student must be currently enrolled in a music ensemble at Ravenwood High School.
